So was he good or bad for his country? I do not really care what the rest of the world think of him, but his people seem to think the world of him!

He was probably good for Cuba but an awful lot of his people dislike him enough to leave by the boat load

Little weed, we have to remember Cuba is a third world country and due to the pressures of the world capitalist order, in most third world countries respect for people is cheap and life expectancy is low. In Cuba they have a health and education system and live expectancy is high. Perhaps compared to our country things do appear to loook back but compared to the back streets of Calcutta, bangladesh, peru etc, Cuba is so advanced. This has been achieved by Fidel Castro and co regardless of theillegal and criminal economic blockade by the USA. But then who really needs the USA and its corrupt system.
