Queen and Country

Should our kids swear their support to the queen, or should they just promise to be good citizens?

I think that without having a tradition of citizens swearing allegience to the state or the Monarch that it would be difficult to introduce this now.

What would you do if children refused to do this? Under the new Labour way of life, I guess they would just have to fine the parents - or maybe not allow the children to have an ID card :-)

Citizen or freedman, slave, I am getting a bit confused here I thought we were subjects of the monarch that was sort of somewhere between slave and citizen.
