According to NASA Mars may have life of some form or another. (they know this because methane has been discovered in the planet's atmosphere).
Perhaps they should now turn their research to the left hand (as you look at the TV screen) bench at Parliament (Commons department)? I suspect a dire shortage of the important gas.

Good one! Of course if a viewer looked to the right of the television screen they would see a group - The Conservative Opposition - who would be rushing to claim personal expenses on the fraudulent basis that they had had to buy the gas.
I'm off to Mars. However basic the life forms there may be, they're sure to be more sentient than those at TDC!
just did a wikipedia search on that big word Sentience is the ability to feel or perceive subjectively. It is an important concept in philosophy, particularly in the philosophy of animal rights and in eastern philosophy, as well as in science fiction and the study of artificial intelligence, although in each of these fields the term is used slightly differently. Advocates of animal rights argue that all animals are sentient in that they can feel pleasure and pain, which entails the presumption of certain moral rights and ought to entail some legal rights. In eastern philosophy, sentience is a metaphysical quality of all things that requires our respect and care. In science fiction, sentience is "personhood": the essential quality that separates humankind from machines or lower animals. Sentience is used in the study of consciousness to describe the ability to have sensations or experiences, known to philosophers as "qualia". I get the feeling or perception you dislike our council
anon 12;19 They would have a long wait till all the labour MP's had finished filing there's
The cases of serious theft and imbezzlement that have occurred, Don - both at Westminster and Brussels/Strasbourg - have all involved Tories. They are the master thieves.
It's the rich what gets the pleasure...
We can always rely on anonymous Labour Councillors, who wrongly think that we have no way of knowing who they are, to take the fun out of an interesting subject by writing a mix of half truths and out right lies about people..

Talking of master thieves - maybe the man that gave our gold to Europe and took 8 billion out of pension fund could go and live on Mars, being a terrible communicator and looking like Gordon won't be a problem up there. Maybe ex LABOUR PM Tony Blair could go with him and start a war on the little green men; they could use Iris to infiltrate the enemy.
Anon of 18.52, I posted the comments at 12.19 and 16.45. I am not a Labour Councillor. I have no association with the Labour Party - or any other Party - whatsoever.
You are woefully misinformed if you believe it is a lie that several Tory MPs and MEPs have been caught with their hands in the till, fiddling their expenses. Just trawl back through the BBC News website over the past year or so and you will locate several offenders.
It is true isnt it that in general the accusations, many proven ( Aitkin, Archer, Hamilton) against Tory MP's breaking the rules,it is generally for personal gain.
Whereas those against Labour MP's, usually found later to be unfounded( Blunkett, Mandleson) the accusation is usually for breaking some rule or convention to cut corners, with no personal gain involved.
I'm not saying which is worse, but it does say something about philosophies.
Do not know about philosophies David, but do know that politicians represent all of society, and sometimes you get some bad ones, fat ones, thin ones, ugly ones, and good looking ones, rich ones, poor ones, the list is endless.
That is a price we pay for democracy.
My view is that it is a price worth paying. As long as the baddies get caught.
and end up branded as scum in a bail hostel
Not sure where you are coming from on this one Don, but hope no one isbranded 'scum' as i always thought our judicial system was to re-integrate fellons into mainstream society
Cllr Green, you forgot to mention ex LABOUR PM Tony Blair, the war criminal, who took our country in to an illegal war killing tens of thousounds of people. That makes the likes of Archer look like a choir boy.. I LOOK FORWARD to the investigation after our troops have left IRAQ... Then we will see LABOUR PARTY WAR CRIMINALS answer for their crimes.
Councillor Gregory, the baddies WON'T get caught as long as MPs like Roger Gale defend them, and accuse the pursuers of carrying out a witchhunt. That is precisely what he did in relation to his friend, crooked Tory MP Derek Conway.
Councillor Hart, the Labour war criminals WON'T get caught as long as MPs like Steve Ladyman defend them, and accuse the pursuers of carrying out a witchhunt.
Anon 13.53, if your post was directed against mine - 10.31 - then, again, I am not a Labour Councillor nor in any way connected to the Labour Party. I simply vote for them in every election. Just as Councillor Gregory once did.
Excuse me anon 1659, How do you know I voted Labour in every election whilst I was a member? I voted, and will continue to vote, for the person or persons who I think will best represent me and my family.
Sorry, Councillor, I assumed the conventional loyalty to the Party of which you were/are a part. Message there for those around you now in the Tory Party!
We know its you clive - I bet that put the spooks up ya!
Clive hides behind the skirt of Iris!
Boring Anon 20.41.....
I can vouch for the posts of 16 January (12.19, 16.45, 23.00),18 January (10.31, 16.59)and 19 January (05.47). They are all mine. As I said before, I am not a Labour Councillor, and have no connection whatsoever with the Labour Party.
Now, do NOT infer I am a liar, and stop trying to score points for your Tory Party by willfully spreading lies and misinformation. I know that, together with hypocrisy, is the "Tory Way", but try and turn over a new leaf for the New Year. You will feel better for it.

Ken that was tongue in cheek with reference to an earlier post I fell of. I have a lot of contact with those who have been through the justice system
