THE THANET BUDGET

Lots of news on the blog sites about how the District Council's Budget will affect us all. I think it may help to put the matter into perspective:-

If you live in an 'average' band 'D' house it will cost an extra £7..80p a year. Any other rise comes from KCC, the Fire Authority, The Police Authority, and ,if applicable, your very own parish council or Charter trustees.

When you look at it like that I would contend that its a good budget.

Tony,
I went for what I percieved to be strongest currency in six months time. It could have been Euro's, but definately not sterling!!

Tony, I paid 3p each for the shares, (150£ worth of them) they managed to climb to the value of £2,500, and the the damn firm went bust! so they are now extinct. I have no shares in infratil, I would hate to put a curse upon them

Ken, You may have been better off buying Gold at the time. £150 could have bought you 3 Sovereigns (worth £450+ today) and probably enough change left over to buy a goat or something for the farm.

What bothers me is not so much the budget planning as it's implementation. That glaring overspend seems to be the energy behind the latest round of sell-offs. A bit less of that if you please.
