Bristow Helicoptors

Sad to see the obituary of Alan Bristow, founder of Bristow Helicopters, who provided Search and Rescue helicopter cover at Manston from 1971 to 1974.

Although his attitude toward industrial relations was a little harsh, his company was well liked in Thanet.

Hey cheer up Ken that’s two posts starting sad in a row and he was 85, which is a pretty good innings.

Anyway it’s good to know you read the Telegraph.

Sorry Michael, was sad , but for different reasons on both. I believe the crew have now gone home to their families, Mr Bristow has not. Me --- no longer sad, more foot sore after leaflet posting, time for a beer or two (or three)

Frankly Ken although in the locals I will vote for both independent, L and C candidates as they are people I know who respond to issues I raise and try to help me resolve them.

When it comes to the European elections I am seriously considering making a protest vote for the first time in my life because of the MPs expenses issue, I suppose in this case IKIP just about fits the bill.

When you are out leafleting and canvassing what are you saying to people to stop them from doing so?

Michael,

If raised I just point out that there are a load of very good MPs from all parties, and also some bad. My experience is that the good are in a great majority. The rules relating to 'expenses' need urgent change, and I believe the three major parties are agreed on that.
