RNLI Radio

Worrying to hear that OFCOM want to increase massively the cost of radio licences for the RNLI!

Their excuse ' It puts them on the same level as the Ambulance and TAXIS?

I am at a loss as to the simularities between the Ambulance Service and the Taxis.

Patently, some 'pointy - head' considers the saving of life to be on a par with getting home from a club or saving a trip to outpatients with his dandruff complaint.........

Good thing that ECR dubbed up a bit of cash to RNLI just in advance of this announcement. It's a 600% increase on the licence fee I think.

The ambulance service is funded by taxes the RNLI is a charity and putting up their licence fee in this way is preposterous, you would think when the government have a charity and volunteer run emergency service they would be as supportive as possible.
