Hospitals Car Parking and Planning

Recent media coverage seems to blame local authorities for the chaos that is reduced car parking availability at hospitals in Kent.

Sorry, not true, Central Government lays down the requirement for parking availability at hospitals. The intention is to discourage use of private cars for journeys to hospital.

I have to keep an open mind on this, but would suggest that an adequate public transport network should be part of the equation.

Slightly off-topic...I wish they'd do something about all the people smoking on the hospital grounds! Whenever I complain at reception they just say there's nothing they can do about it, but surely someone outside handing out fines would either deter people or make some extra money?

You don't look like a bus passenger to me Ken

You're slipping Ken - you haven't found a way of blaming the UK Government for the earthquake in Italy.

Thanet seemed to be spoilt for buses when I spent a week in Ramsgate last year.
Where I live there is a hourly bus to the Hospital.

I think Clark 08.44 is taking you blog for a ride with his insincere advert!

We know why you changed parties, and it would have something to do with not wanting to have a CRB check wouldn't it? Or is that just nasty rumours running around Thanet!

Would be interested to know your thoughts on this?

Thanks for the comment Iris. Spiteful and nasty as we have come to expect.

My personal view is that a, all people standing for public office or employment should have an enhanced crb check, all applying for a passport should also have the same, and access to the internet should be restricted to those having at least one brain cell. (that should save us from inane comments on boring blog sites then)

It would also save us from boring blogs.

Whilst it hurts to speak in support of an opposition councillor, I would point out that Iris does not post on this blog, I know, I have spoken to her. (There are other opposition councillors available)

Iris doesn't post on this blog? You know because you have spoken to her?

Your tongue must be so far up your cheek that it is in danger of sticking out your ear Ken!

No, Ken's tongue is tantalising his own half a brain cell.

Hope the thought police haven't got to you Ken. You will know better than anyone that labour in Thanet are as left as they get and had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21sr century and it seems that the hard liners have been using tactics learned from their bosses on their blogs to discredit individuals if todays reports in the press are anything to go by. don't you have anything you could dish on them to give them a taste of there own medicine and give the rest of us a larf?!

It is obviously convenient for Thanet Tories to try to claim that the criticisms levelled at them on local blogs are inspired by the Labour Party's national leadership and are linked to the behaviours of the kind made public this weekend. Their own spin doctor, Councillor Moores, is off on one already on his blog.

What utter garbage!

What the Number 10 Aide did was utterly reprehensible and it is right that he resigned. But one wonders if exactly the same is not contemplated in the Tory Party. Squeaky clean? I don't think so.

Much of the flak directed at the Tory administration in Thanet comes from local bloggers, who are not members of any political party. The flak is there because of the unacceptable, thuggish behaviour of the Tory leadership, that has brought the council and Thanet into disrepute. It is there because of the p*** poor management of the Council's affairs.

So don't get off on the idea that this is inspired or led from afar. It is local. It is not lnked to the Labour Party, and it is there because of YOU and because of what you are doing to Thanet.
