The future

At the Pavilion today TDC held a public event to find out peoples views for the future of Thanet.

Seems they want the airport to succeed, the harbour to prosper, and Westwood Cross to go forward. Jobs for the young and homes for locals. I feel heartened by real people.

where was this public meeting advertised please? It does not seem to be on the consultation website.

What pavilion was that Ken? Not the one in Ramsgate that your administration has left derelict for almost two years surely. I presume you are talking about the one in Broadstairs. Where, of course, you would have found support for the airport as it means all the convenience for them and none of the pollution and disturbance.

If you had been in Ramsgate at the weekend you would have seen hundreds of 'real' people signing the petition against night flights.

I'd have wanted to come to this meeting if I'd known about it - where was it advertised? And was it the Pavilion in Broadstairs? Presumably there are other meetings planned that we'll hear about so there's a chance for lots of people to attend. It would be good to know how many were at the one today.

Erm, nope. Didn't know anything about this meeting Ken. Come and hold one in Albion House and see what reaction you get from Ramsgate residents.

And bring Mat Clarke and Paul Carter.

Ken I have just got round to reading some of the other local blogs, I have had rather a busy week, anyway it looks to me as if you were cut off in your prime here, should there have been more to this post?

This event attracted people from all over Thanet, and also from surrounding Districts. there must have been 200 ish people, and there will be more local consultation further in the process.

JP, it was not a single issue workshop, but a holistic look forward, (and back)

Who do you consider as real people exactly? People who agree with your stance on everything I take it!

My definition of a real person is someone whose ego isn't so huge that they wish to preach(dictate?) their "great wisdom" to the prols via a blog and do not have control freakish tendencies to become a local politician! However, I respect your right to disagree with my views.!

Anon 19:36, my definition of a real person isn't someone who criticises others anonymously...

As for cllrs blogging, it seems they get criticised whatever they do or don't do (they're either "egotistical" or they "don't care").
