Swine Flu ?

So the threat of the swine Flu pandemic has 'Officially' ended! Was the enormity of the threat real, or was the cost of the fear of the pandemic a 'Tax' that the NHS had to endure to make people 'forget' the deep trouble this country is in financially?

An interesting observation, Ken, and I tend to agree with you. I have long suspected that the 'terrorist threat'hype from this Labour Government has served a similar purpose.

You tell us! However if it had turned into a pandemic, you would have been the first to say too little had been done lol

I would be more worried about Man Flu,,,

a far more serious and debilitating threat to the nations health than Swine Flu, Bird Flu, Asian Flu, and any other kind of flu !!!

It was not so long ago when some people were spouting the Conservative party hype that we are going to run out of Gas during the recent cold snap, but we didn't.

Tony, that was only because of luck, and there was no cost to the tax payer

Tony, it was a close run thing and you know it. Our strategic gas reserves are inadequate and the problem needs to be addressed; by a Conservative Govt perhaps?

Bertie,on the subject of Gas, all I knew is was I read in the papers I haven't got a clue what our strategic gas reserves are and like 99.9% of the population who are not bothered by such statistics, my main concern is keeping warm.
Looking from a lay man's point of view the Conservatives said the Gas is going to run out which really did come across as scaremongering. Bit of a boo boo don't you think from a party gearing up for an election.
